Across 4 studies, the authors found that participants scoring in the bottom quartile on tests of humor, grammar, and logic grossly overestimated their test performance and ability. Meanwhile, people with true knowledge tended to underestimate their competence.

LOL that is all good stuff! My dad used to be the residence, pimp karaoke host at a little bar called Ellis Island in Las Vegas. He said it was scary how many sober people would come in and sing all the time with dreams of catching their big break at this very club. He said they were all completely deaf to how horrible they were. It didn’t help, I am sure, that drunk people were the audience offering them encouraging words to continue.
